Joël is an architect and researcher whose career has been shaped by a strong interest in public policy, community building, and the critical dialogue between the architectural profession and the public. Believing that everyone should be engaged in shaping their built environment, his work strives to remove barriers of participation and engage users and the public throughout the design process. Never one to say no to an interesting opportunity, Joël’s diverse portfolio includes sustainable residential conversions, placemaking-centered institutional retrofits, as well as exhibitions, articles, tours and more.
Joël’s involvement with the TSA began in 2016 as a volunteer with both the walking tours and guide map initiatives. Since then his role has expanded to include the management of day-to-day operations of the Society, as well as the maintenance and development of all TSA programming, resources and initiatives.
