Dr. Lee Foote

Professor & Ecologist

Dr. Lee Foote is a plant ecologist and emeritus University of Alberta professor, who concluded his
career as the director of their Botanic Garden, on Highway 60 just west of Edmonton. He was an early
advocate for the retention of the Dyde House and especially its Erickson-designed large garden, with its
allusions to Japanese, Baroque and English Romantic landscape design traditions.
