5 Must-See Films Screening at ADFF Toronto 2025

ADFF is a cultural event tailor-made for architecture and design buffs. Screening films that are new and exclusive, the film festival is often the first (and only) place to see rare gems from Canada and around the world. At ADFF Toronto 2025, taking place this week, it’s no different. Here, discover the five films piquing our interest the most.

The festival kicks off with the Canadian premiere of Identity: A Czech Graphic Design Love Story — a playful and poignant exploration of national identity told through the lens of graphic design. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s narrator, Nicholas D. Lowry, President and Principal Auctioneer of Swann Auction Galleries (also a beloved Antiques Roadshow appraiser).

Miralles (Spain) – This exploration of the Catalan master architect Enric Miralles, who died a quarter century ago at the age of 45, captures the mood of his works, including polarizing projects like the Scottish Parliament Building, and more. The screening is followed by a panel discussion featuring Maria Denegri, Principal, Denegri Bessai Studio and Arancha Gonzàlez Bernardo, Co-Founder, Odami – and moderated by Elizabeth Pagliacolo, Editor in Chief, AZURE.
