Jean Ann Fausser started her career as a watercolorist and subsequently moved into fiber and mixed media art.  This transition worked well with her exploration of concepts as well as her interest in fine contemporary crafts arts. She is currently working with two main materials and bodies of work. The knotted and or coiled sculptural forms include teapot and other small works. While the two dimensional works employ the use of felting and stitching to create abstract compositions.
She has shown her work in various juried exhibits around the United States and Korea. She has participated in a variety of juried group exhibits including Vision Makers, Fiber Works, the National Basket Association exhibition Small Expressions VIII and Handweavers Guild of America exhibition All Things Considered.
She has had solo exhibitions in Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.  Her work is in the collection of the Boy Scouts of America in the Donald W. Reynolds Scout Resource Center, Tulsa, OK, the Kamm Teapot Collection, the Arts and Humanities Hardesty Arts Center and St. Francis Hospital new trauma wing in Tulsa, OK as well as in various private collections in Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.  Much of the current work can be viewed on her website, www.JFiberart.com
She was born in Great Bend, KS and currently resides in Tulsa, OK.  She has honed the skills she uses to create the works by taking many workshops and classes around the country. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Tulsa. She has won numerous awards for her works in fiber, including felting and three dimensional mixed media constructions.  She travels extensively around the world visiting museums and arts organizations gathering ideas in order to broaden her perspective.  She currently divides her time between working in her studio and serving actively on the boards for the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, 108|Contemporary (a fine contemporary craft gallery and organization), and Living Arts of Tulsa.
